Women in Science and Society lecture with Susan E. Quaggin

The Women in Science and Society lecture series of the SFB 829 brings internationally highly- recognized female scientists to Cologne to discuss the role of female scientists in science and society. The aim of this lecture series is to provide role models for young researchers of all genders and to address how gender issues are handled in the speaker’s home country and university.

It is our great pleasure to have Susan E. Quaggin, from the Northwestern University, as our guest on July 1st, who will present the results of her recent work in a first science lecture and further discuss important issues on the role of female scientists in her second society talk. Both talks will take place in the CECAD lecture hall. This event is organised by both the SFB 829 and the KFO 329 and will be co-hosted by the Vice-Dean of Academic Development & Gender of the Medical Faculty, Prof. Elke Kalbe, who will give a welcome speech before the Society lecture.

Science lecture: starts at 12.30 pm, title: “High ‘TEK’ Solutions for Vascular Diseases

Society lecture: starts at 4.30 pm, title: “#allofus: A View from Both Sides of the Border”
